This is our first “Top of…” destination.
The Dufourspitze (4,634 m) is the highest summit of the Monte Rosa. Located right at the boarder of Switzerland and Italy, it’s the highest point of Switzerland.
It’s an easy glacier climb from the Monterosahütte, for about 1600 – 1700 vertical meters. After that, an easy (II – III) but exposed ridge leads to the top, either from West or from East.
We should be there Monday, July 15th, before noon. Follow us!
Considering the exceptional conditions on the glacier, we will be able to actually ski down from the Silbersaettel almost to the Monterosahütte. We will thus carry our ski and skins for the third different man-powered mean of transportation!
